Movie Review: Captive {and Giveaway}

About the Movie:  CAPTIVE, based on a miraculous true story that drew the attention of the entire nation, is a thrilling drama about the spiritual collision of two broken lives. When Brian Nichols - on the run as the subject of a city wide manhunt and desperate to make contact with his newborn son - takes recovering meth addict Ashley Smith hostage in her own apartment, she turns for guidance to Rick Warren’s best-selling inspirational book, The Purpose Driven Life. While reading aloud, Ashley and her would-be killer each face crossroads where despair and death intersect hope.

My Thoughts:  I found Captive to be a truly inspirational movie. Despite the very different roads that both Ashley Smith and Brian Nichols were on, they were both lost and I firmly believe that it was God's purpose for them to intercept when they did. When Ashley was given a copy of Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life she had no idea just how much it would change her life, as well as the life of Brian and countless others in the process. Never hearing about the original story in the news, I didn't know how everything began or how it all would end so I was happy with the outcome of things, happy that both Ashley and Brian were both able to find redemptionAs far as the acting went, I think that Kate Mara and David Oyelowo both did exceptional jobs playing the characters of Ashley and Brian.
