Hot Dog Collars Review and Giveaway

Disclosure:  I received the below products from Hot Dog Collars for free in order to perform this review. However, no other compensation was received. All opinions expressed are my own.

Hot Dog Collars began at mall kiosks in Jacksonville, Florida and is now the worldwide leader in online pet accessories with over 25,000 styles, colors, and sizes of dog collars and other pet products, including ID tags, leashes, licensed pet gear, and more. They are still family owned and operated. They live by "happy dogs and happy owners" and their mission is to enhance the lives of both the pet and the family through their fun and unique pet accessories. They have helped to spoil over 1,000,000 pets. Hot Dog Collars is also a part of RUFF (Rescue Us For Freedom) program, partnering with charities, rescues, shelters, and similar groups to spread the word about these great organizations and the work they do.

Hot Dog Collars was generous enough to send my two dogs, Tyson and Crook, some of their products for review, including a collar, dog tag (with tag silencer/protector), and leash, which they were both super excited about. Since they are so good about taking turns, they both had a chance to enjoy these products.

We are big Cincinnati Bengals fans at our house so choosing the Cincinnati Bengals NFL Dog Tags With Custom Engraving to review was a no brainer. Their NFL dog ID tags are officially licensed by the NFL, rust proof, built to last, and engravable. Since my dogs are Pit Bulls and sometimes get a bad rap, I had it engraved with a cute saying about Pit Bulls that I found online, "I'm a Pit Bull...I'm Love-a-Bull Kiss-a-Bull Hug-a-Bull." That describes both Tyson and Crook perfectly. I was very impressed with the fact that I could have up to four lines of text engraved with up to 20 characters per line. The engraving is done very well, is easily readable, and is protected by an acrylic coating. This dog tag measures approximately 1.5 inches in width. It is very well made and it is NOT made from cheap, thin aluminum. The logo is of awesome quality. It even came with a glow in the dark tag silence/protector, which reduces tag jingle and adds an extra layer of protection against scratches and other damage.

Always looking for the perfect leash for Tyson and Crook, I chose to review the chrome plate chain dog leash from their huge selection of dog leashes. It is 4 feet long and 4 mm thick. It is made from strong stainless steel chain link and is argon welded, chrome plated, and power coated. It is guaranteed to not chip or crack. It's available in nine different colors. I went with the midnight black. It's not too heavy of a heavy leash but it's also not cheaply made and in fact it seems to be made very well. It easily attaches to their collar. The handle is pretty comfortable and a tad bit flexible, which is nice because my dogs pull a lot when I'm walking them (we're still working on that). The handle seems to be made well but my dogs are so strong that I'm afraid they'll eventually pull so hard that it will break but so far so good, it can handle either one of my strong boys. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one. It's also made in the USA!

Here's Crook out for a walk with Mama. Do you notice how hard he is pulling me?
Here's Tyson getting ready for his walk.
Every dog needs a nice dog collar but a custom ID collar is even better, allowing your dogs unique personality to shine. I chose the personalized red flames dog collar and I had it personalized with "Too Hot To Handle." The text repeats all around the collar. This collar is made of a durable poly/cotton blend. The art is computer generated and is actually part of the collar and not a sticker, decal, or anything else that could come off over time. I also added the cute art design of a paw print. This collar is easily adjustable and when my dogs grow (they only just turned a year old), I can rest assured that this collar will adjust to accommodate their growth. I was able to easily attach the ID tag to this collar. In addition to being easily adjustable, I was able to put this collar on Tyson and Crook easily as well. It didn't seem to bother them at all and it seemed to be comfortable. If your dog gets this collar dirty, it's machine washable. It is also made in the USA.

And want to know the best part about Hot Dog Collars? Their products are super affordable, in addition to being stylish and well made. The Cincinnati Bengals NFL Dog Tags With Custom Engraving that I reviewed can be purchased for $9.94. The Chrome Plated Chain Dog Leash is only $19.95 and the Personalized Red Flames Dog Collar can be purchased for as low as $13.95. These prices include the customization as well.
