Pentel Product Review

**Disclosure:  I received the below Pentel products for free from Shoplet.com as a member of the Shoplet Product Review Program. However, no other compensation was received. I was not influenced in any way and all opinions expressed are my own.**

For nearly 70 years, Pentel has supplied the world with the highest quality products. Being a leader in innovation with a commitment to excellence, Pentel invented roller ball technology, pioneered graphite lead with their Super Hi-Polymer Lead being the market leader, and their mechanical pencil inventions remain the hallmark of the industry. Taking pride in craftsmanship, every Pentel mechanical pencil, lead, eraser, pen and correction fluid is manufactured by their own factories. Pentel is the only writing instrument company to receive the Deming Award for recognition of the highest standard of quality. Pentel is as committed to quality products as they are to education and worthwhile causes as they sponsor numerous educational programs and donate products to libraries, schools and organizations in need. Pentel also proudly created the Recycology program to create a healthier environment by creating less waste and increasing recycling activity. In their Recycology, Pentel can ensure that all products meet strict environmental standards. They use both recycled content and post-consumer recycled content in these products. Past, present, and future, Pentel offers superior quality, innovative products, and the maximum value for every dollar spent.Because Shoplet is the leading purely online office supply retailer, they of course carry many Pentel products, including the EnerGel Pearl Roller Ball Retractable Gel Pen and the Twist-Erase Mechanical Pencil and I know you want to hear more about them.

The Pentel EnerGel Pearl Roller Ball Retractable Gel Pen is a tastefully designed pen that combines the best qualities of liquid and gel ink for a super smooth ink delivered via an exclusive ink/tip technology. Not only does this pen come in black and blue ink, but pink and violet as well. This is perfect because to be honest sometimes black and blue ink just get boring to look at so sometimes I like to use a little color when I write. No matter which color I'm using though, the acid-free ink looks very vibrant and glides on smoothly. It doesn't bleed through. It dries quickly and doesn't smear. It has a pocket clip, as well as a visible ink level and is refillable. It has a latex-free cushioned grip but it doesn't feel very soft or comfortable so I'm not sure how my fingers would feel after using this pen for a long period of time. I think it makes a perfect office pen for writing down quick notes and messages. Another thing that makes this a great pen it that it's made of 54% pre-consumer recycled content.

The Pentel Twist-Erase Mechanical Pencil has some very nice features, one of them being a sliding sleeve, which is very easy to push to dispense the lead. The lead seems strong and is not easily broken. I love the extra soft, latex-free grip, which is very comfortable to reduce writing fatigue. This twist erase pencil can definitely be used for long periods of time with ease. I also love the extremely big twist-up eraser which is over an inch long. The eraser is also much larger in diameter as well than the erasers on other mechanical pencils I have used in the past. Most erasers on mechanical pencils don't even come close to being that big. It's very easy to twist up the eraser. The eraser seems to be durable, getting the job done well....or should I say getting the job undone! It also features a very strong metal pocket clip. It come pre-loaded with 0.5mm Pentel Super Hi-Polymer HB lead and it is available in different barrel colors, including black, blue, and red.

  2. I love the top ones. I'm stuck using black ink most of the time so when I get a chance to write in pink or something, I go for it lol
