House of Doolittle Product Review

**Disclosure:  I received the below products for free from Shoplet.com as a member of the Shoplet Product Review Program. However, I was not influenced in any way and all opinions expressed are my own.**

I've worked with Shoplet.com for a couple of years but right now I couldn't be more proud of them. Shoplet is now making green products the standard! At Shoplet.com, you can choose from over 20,000 recycled products, including products from House of Doolittle. Since 1919, House of Doolittle has manufactured quality products that are made in the United States and 27 years ago they made the commitment to produce 100% of their products using recycled paper and materials. I'm so excited that so many companies are so passionate about recycling. Since 1989, House of Doolittle has donated 5% of its profits to organizations that are working to create a more sustainable environment. Shoplet.com recently sent me a couple of House of Doolittle products to review, including a weekly business planner and a monthly desk pad 2014 calendar.
Made of 100% post-consumer paper and printed with soy inks, the House of Doolittle Weekly Business Planner is perfect for keeping track of all my blog commitments. It is a 7 x 10 inch wire bound planner with a black leatherette cover. It's very professional looking and made extremely well. In the front, there is a page for my information, like my name, phone number, and email address. There is also a list of important dates and holidays. It features two pages per week. Each two page spread lists appointment times and I had plenty enough room to write what I needed to. There is also an expense record at the end of each week that allows you to keep track of your expenses for the week. The expense record is also broken down into different categories such as meals, hotels, tips, parking, etc. to make things that much more easier. There are also three calendar reference blocks on every other page of the planner, the previous, current, and next months. In the back of the planner, there are a bunch of informational pages, such as area codes, time zones, toll free numbers, travel hints, metric conversion, weights and measures, etc. Because House of Doolittle is passionate about recycling, there is also a page in the back of this business planner with conservation and recycling information. Did you know that every year Americans throw away enough office and writing paper to build a wall 12 feet high, stretching from Los Angeles to New York City! The only thing that I could think of that would make this planner better would be either a horizontal or vertical pocket on the inside to maybe hold receipts, notes, brochures, etc. Otherwise I love this new planner and it will definitely help keep me organized in 2014.
The House of Doolittle Two-Color Monthly Desk Pad Calendar w/Large Notes Section is made of 100% post-consumer paper and printed with soy inks. It is rather generous in size and measures 18-1/2 x 13 inches. There is one month per page yet each page includes a full year reference calendar at the bottom, which definitely comes in handy and makes planning things much easier. The individual date boxes are generous in size as well and are big enough to hold plenty of information. There is also a large notes section on the right hand side of the calendar for any additional notes you may have. There are perforated lines at the very top of the pages so when the month is over you just simply tear the page off. With blue simulated leather binding (headband and bottom corners) and deep blue and gray printing, this 2014 calendar definitely adds a professional touch to any desk in any office.
