Build You Own Locket From PicturesOnGold.com {Review and Giveaway}

**Disclosure:  PicturesOnGold.com allowed me to design a free customized locket in order to perform this review. No other compensation was received. All opinions expressed are my own.**

I'm a proud football mom so I'm always looking for jewelry, shirts, bags, etc. that display how proud I am of my teenager. I especially love when I have the ability to customize said products. As a blogger, I've worked with PicturesOnGold.com several times in the past so when they asked me to review their recently launched "Build Your Own Locket" application that allowed customers to actually see the exact finished product prior to purchasing, I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to build a customized piece of football mom jewelry.

The first step to building your own locket is to choose your locket. I was allowed to review one of their heart lockets in sterling silver but you can also choose a round locket,  oval locket, or a dog tag locket. All of the lockets, with the exception of the dog tag locket, also come in 14k gold. The next step is to choose the front design for your locket. You can select from 1000's of designs/symbols or you could add text or monogram in block or script font. I chose a football from the sports category. For the inside of my locket, I chose to upload a picture of my son in his football jersey and have it color laser engraved on one side and on the other side I added his initials (CDB) in block font. I was able to re-size the picture of my son. Depending on the type of picture you choose for your locket (paper photo or laser engraved), PicturesOnGold.com's digital artists will automatically remove the background of the photograph and/or bring people/objects closer together when they are spaced apart. However, you can choose to keep the background in your photo or can choose to only have certain objects removed. For the back of the locket, I chose to add some text in the script font, which was a quote by Jerry Rice, (Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can accomplish was other's can't). You can add up to 7 lines (25 characters each line).

The entire building process was so simple that I believe almost anyone could do it. I knew exactly what I was wanting to build so it literally just took no time at all. I like that I was able to preview my final design before submitting it. I loved that fact that I was able to customize every aspect of this locket. It arrived fairly quickly and I couldn't have been happier. The front of the locket is very sleek looking and the football symbol looks great. On the inside of the locket, the color laser engraved picture of my handsome son looks amazing. All the clutter in the background was removed and my son was moved in closer. In the original picture I uploaded, my son was wearing his football jersey with his number showing but if it wasn't re-sized the picture would be so small that you wouldn't be able to tell who it was a picture of so I'm glad Pictures On Gold took care of this for me. His initials on the other side look wonderful as well. The back of the locket is not as sleek as the front but my entire quote was able to fit. Even though the lettering is small, it is still very readable a little closer up. Overall, the locket is made very, very well and it's very sturdy. The locket clasps shut easily and stays closed unless I open it up and opening it is very easy as well, which I can do without long fingernails, which is a relief because I'm a habitual nail biter.

I absolutely love my new heart shaped locket from PicturesOnGold.com. It's perfectly customized and is very special to me already. I think one of Pictures On Gold heart lockets would make the perfect gift this holiday season to let someone know they are truly loved.
