UGLee Ergonomic Pen Review and Giveaway

I'm a medical transcriptionist so it's a must that I maintain an ergonomic workstation, and that includes using ergonomic equipment as well. Even though I use a keyboard the majority of my work day, there are times when I need to write down notes using a pen and I want that to be ergonomic as well since a lot of my colleagues have experienced problems with carpal tunnel syndrome in the past. The UGLee ergonomic pen is the newest piece of ergonomic equipment to join my workstation.

The UGLee Pen is a physician designed pen that was developed by Dr. Lee who wanted to find the "perfect pen" after failing to find a truly comfortable one after all the writing he had done throughout his academic and professional life began to take its toll and he began experiencing hand cramps. After spending a lot of time and money looking for a comfortable pen to use and not being able to find even one, the frustrated Dr. Lee decided to create his own pen that would meet his expectations of comfort. He spent an inordinate amount of his own time and resources in his endeavor. He experimented with just about every combination of shape, texture, material, and ink mixtures. He even went as far as to study the structure of the human hand using x-ray and researching the attachment and function of hand muscles to design the perfect grip. Dr. Lee's 8 years of hard work ultimately resulted in the UGLee Pen.

The UGLee Pen is definitely unlike any pen I've used before, ergonomic or otherwise. It's extremely lightweight and weighs less than half an ounce, which means less mass, less inertia, and more comfort. The overall shape of the full size grip, as well as its detailed contours, are perfectly engineered to follow the anatomy of my hand. Basically, I didn't have to grip this material, it gripped me, and not once when using this pen did my fingers slip. It's made of kind of a squishy material that is very, very comfortable. This pen is perfect for everyone because, despite how our parents or teachers tried to teach us to hold it, I know everyone grips their pens differently. With all this attention paid to comfort and making this a relaxing pen to use, I was unconvinced that I would like the way it wrote but I was wrong. This pen is mated with the smoothest ink system known, smoother than roller ball, gel ink, or fountain ink pen. Compared to other pens I normally use, the UGLee Pen's ink goes on extremely smooth and easy and looks very bold and prominent. A co-worker of mine who also tried an UGLee Pen was also very impressed with the way it wrote.

The UGLee Pen is sold in packs of three and comes in many different colors and you can order packs of 10 ink cartridges in black, blue, or red ink. To find out more about the UGLee Pen, you can connect with them on Twitter and/or Facebook.

  2. I'm impressed with the testimonials because they're so diverse. One person said it helped with diabetic neuropathy, several people mentioned it helped with carpal tunnel and at least one mentioned it helped children to have better penmanship.
