Savannah Smiles Girl Scout Cookies Review

In 2012, Girls Scouts will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary and thanks to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County I was given the opportunity to review a box of Savannah Smiles cookies, which is a new cookie in honor of this special milestone. The Girl Scout Cookie® Program has been a key part to the Girl Scouting experience for 85 years now. The Girl Scout Cookies Program® is the world's largest Business and Financial literacy program and is much more than a way to raise money. The Girl Scout Cookie® Program is a hands-on, leadership and entrepreneurial opportunity which teaches girls self-confidence and teaches them important lessons about business, math, organization, sales, money management, negotiation, and responsibility. The Cookie Program also teaches girls to appreciate and take pride in the work that they've accomplished for themselves and for Girl Scouts. These are skills that carry on into adulthood. Proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie® Program can bring clean water to people in Africa, document the history of your local town, bring girls to international destinations, build a Habitat for Humanity house, feed the hungry, clothe the homeless and fund your Troop’s activities for the year. When you support the Girl Scout Cookie® Program, you’re supporting a better world. All proceeds from the Cookie program in Nassau County stay in Nassau County to help fund council and Troop activities throughout the year and because of the earning power of the Girl Scout Cookie Program®, no girl is ever turned away from Girl Scouts of Nassau County because of financial need. This year in addition to the Savannah Smiles, the Girl Scouts from Nassau County will also be selling their famous Do-si-dos, Samoas, Tagalongs, Thin Mints, and Trefoils. You have until March 31st to order a box of Girl Scout Cookies from the GSNC or your local Girl Scouts.

With almost 21,000 girl and 7,000 adult members, Girl Scouts of Nassau County has become the preeminent organization and leading authority for girls. The organization continues to make the world a better place one girl at a time. For more information on the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, visit http://www.gsnc.org/. You can also connect on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and/or the Girl Scouts of Nassau County blog.

My Review of Savannah Smiles
Savannah Smiles are crisp, lemon wedge shaped cookies dusted with powdered sugar but the powdered sugars stays intact and doesn't cause a mess. They are the perfect size to just pop the entire cookie in your mouth at once or you can savor it by taking a bite or two. Either way you'll get a burst of lemon flavor from the tiny lemon chips hiding inside. They are great for big or little hands. If you're a fan of the Lemon Chalet Cremes or just a fan of lemon flavor, you'll definitely want to give Savannah Smiles a try.

Disclaimer:  I received a free box of Savannah Smiles Girl Scout Cookies from GSNC in order to perform this review, however, all opinions expressed are my own.

Also, special thanks to Lisa Gordon from Lisa-isms for making this review happen.
