Movie Review: The 5th Quarter

Driven by the tragic and fatal car crash that took the life of his 15-year-old little brother Luke, and wearing Luke's number 5 jersey, "The 5th Quarter" is the story about Jon Abbate who helps to lead the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to their most successful season in school history."The 5th Quarter" stars Andie MacDowell, Aidan Quinn, and Ryan Merriman as Jon Abbate.

"The 5th Quarter" is a wonderful movie and it is definitely a tear jerker. Within 10-15 minutes of starting the movie, the tears started as well and they kept coming the entire time. There were moments in this movie where I just wanted to sob. It takes you on a journey with all the people who loved Luke and how they dealt with his sudden death. It also shows us just how important it is to be an organ donor as Luke was able to save five people with his organs, including the life of a single mother.

This is a great movie to watch with the family, especially if you have teenagers. Teenagers sometimes think they are invincible but "The 5th Quarter" shows just how quickly life can change and that tomorrow is not guaranteed, even for a healthy, active teenager. They'll also learn how important it is to drive safely and most importantly appreciate every moment you have with your loved ones.

  1. Sounds like a great movie but I hate movies that make me cry. Once I start crying there's no stopping me! lol
