Book Review: A Perfect Gem by Winslow Eliot

A Perfect Gem is the latest romantic suspense novel written by Winslow Eliot. It is the story of recently widowed Crista whose late husband always said “Bad things happen to other people. Not to us.” Just when Crista didn't think things could get any worse, she finds out that her husband had been married to another woman. On top of all that, she gets fired from her job and evicted from her apartment. When her estranged father offers her the chance to return back home to Tahton after fleeing 25 years earlier and vowing never to return, she feels this is the only way her and her two kids can start over again. Upon arriving, she encounters the one person she never thought she'd see again, her childhood love, Gareth who never wants to let Crista go again but when her late husband's 'real wife' contacts her, she embarks on a journey for answers and ends up finding out more than she bargained for and realizes that not everyone is who they seem to be. Can the love her and Gareth have for each other be enough to keep Crista from running away again?

I really loved A Perfect Gem. There is the perfect amount of suspense, romance, and mystery and just when you think you have it all figured out, you don't, right to the very end. I was very pleased with how this story ended as well. You'll love most of the characters, especially Gareth, who is every woman's dream, and Joon, who'd make an awesome BFF. Before each chapter there is also a fun fact about a gem (From Loving Stones by Joon Ting) and what it can do for your mind and body. This was a fun and very easy book to get into from start to finish.

If you'd like to buy A Perfect Gem for yourself, you can purchase your own copy from Amazon in hardcover, paperback, or Kindle edition.
