Eric at Soap Soundz was nice enough to send for my review two liquid hand soaps and a hand sanitizer. Want to find out more about Soap Soundz, look below.
About Soap Soundz
THE STORY OF THE MUSICAL PUMP
The story is pretty simple. As parents, the creators of Soap Soundz recognized how little attention kids gave to washing their hands after using the bathroom, before meals and basically, any time they were asked to wash up. They also found that unless reminded and/or supervised, the chance that any soap would find it's way into the process was pretty slim. Most often it was just a quick run under the faucet and done (if that). So they came up with a soap pump that plays fun sounds for 20 seconds. Why 20 seconds? That's the amount of time the CDC recommends we wash our hands to remove germs. What they found was that with Soap Soundz kids washed their hands better and more frequently, they always used soap, and they washed for at least 20 seconds.
They found that the simplest solution was the best. Plus they learned early on that to be effective, they had to make the sound loud enough for the kids to hear the message over the running water. So as a bonus, you can tell from the next room whether or not your kids are using the soap.
THE STORY OF THE SOAP
There are a lot of soaps on the market with nasty stuff in them. But soaps that claim to 'kill' germs with chemicals like triclosan have not been proven to be any more effective at cleaning your hands than all-natural soaps. Yet many people buy these 'anti-bacterial' soaps and introduce nasty chemicals into their bodies, their homes, and eventually into our soil and water supply. They want to offer people an alternative to the nasty stuff. Their soaps are made from only natural and naturally derived products. They use natural skin moisturizers like Aloe and Vitamin E to help keep your hands soft and healthy. Your body's skin is your number one defense system against germs. They believe in clean hands, not chemically treated hands. They also like to smell clean, and they're proud of the natural scents that they've developed. They'd rather hands smell like strawberry ice cream than chemicals.
THE STORY OF THE SANITIZER
Let's face it, there are going to be times when you need clean hands and soap and water just aren't available. While the CDC maintains that washing with soap and water is the #1 method for maintaining hand hygiene, they also acknowledge that next best alternative is to use an alcohol based hand sanitizer. Ethanol alcohol is a naturally derived antiseptic that has been clinically proven to kill more than 99% of germs. They use only naturally derived alcohol in their sanitizers and all the other ingredients are from nature. They load up their formula with enough Aloe and Vitamin E to try to counter-act the drying effect of the alcohol. While they don't advocate the use of sanitizer over proper hand washing, they are proud to offer a hand sanitizer that is as natural and effective as possible.
I was sent from Soap Sounds a Lord Viral Meteor Melon Liquid Hand Soap, a Haunted Halloween Citrus Liquid Hand Soap, and an A-BAC Citrus Hand Sanitizer.
First off these each smell wonderful. I was amazed and how well they actually did smell. Everyone in my house agreed that they had a wonderful scent. I placed a soap in my bathroom and one in the kitchen, where I also put the hand sanitizer.
When putting my son to the test, he as I said really liked the scent but he also loved the sounds. He really thought the Lord Viral Meteor was very funny and he grinned and giggled every time it was played. He also loved the spooky Haunted Halloween sound, which by the way is his favorite thing to celebrate.
He has been using this each time he uses the restroom and washes his hands. I know this because even in the next room with the television on and the bathroom door closed, I can hear for myself. Lord Viral Meteor is just loud enough to ensure me that he is washing his hands and fighting germs (and having fun in the process).
I think this is a great way for parents to tell that their kids are keeping their hands clean and germ free, as well as smelling great. These retail for $5.89 for an 8.4 FL oz. bottle or you can buy a 3-pack for $13.99. It would be well worth it to know for a fact that your kids are not just running water of their hands and saying they washed.
Eric at Soap Soundz has been nice enough to offer not 1, not 2, but 8 of my readers the chance to win the 3-pack of Soap Soundz hand soap pictured above that you and your kids will love. This 3-pack retails for $13.99 and can also be purchased on Amazon.
