This summer, my boyfriend and I and our two kids and my parents went to Virginia Beach. I captured this beautiful picture of the beach while standing on the pier our first day there. The weather was great. Don't get me wrong, being June it was hot but the humidity was lower in Virginia Beach, unlike it is in Ohio.
It was nice to take a break from walking along the boardwalk once in a while. My dad and I especially loved sitting on the benches in front of the King Neptune statue. It was fun to relax and watch all the little kids try to climb on him and all the families taking pictures standing beside him.
One day while my dad and I were relaxing in front of King Neptune while the others did their thing, the skies darkened and the wind picked up and a storm was fast approaching. We were only two blocks away but by the time we got back to our hotel, the beach and boardwalk were deserted but luckily everyone made it back just in time and were safe and sound. I captured this image from my hotel entrance. The bad weather didn't last long though and before the evening was up the beach and the boardwalk were full of people again.
At last, every good thing must come to an end, including a nice, relaxing family vacation. I captured this breathtaking image of the sunrise on the morning we had to leave back to Ohio. Adieu Virginia Beach....until next time.
