Aurora has brought back the beloved ragdolls Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy, which were originally created in 1918 by Johnny Gruelle, for a whole new generation to enjoy. Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy are handmade by Aurora and are dressed in vintage-inspired outfits to capture the spirit of the heartwarming originals. This line also includes Raggedy Ann Fancy Pals, which features a 7" Raggedy Ann doll in a cute purse that matches her outfit.
The Raggedy Ann Fancy Pals doll (Scrunchy) comes with a scrunchy purse with a big red bow. Don't let her size fool you because this doll is very well made, right down to the stitching on her dress, she's just a miniature version of the original. She's the perfect size for tiny hands and she fits perfectly inside the purse. The purse is the perfect size to carry all the things a little girl loves, like lip gloss, small trinkets and toys, crayons, candy, etc. My 8-year-old niece thought this was a very cute set and Raggedy Ann and her purse will no doubt be accompanying her to church on Sunday.
I get very nostalgic whenever I see a Raggedy Ann or Raggedy Andy doll because I remember my Granny having a set of them that I played with when I was a little girl when I visited her so I can tell you that the new line of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls by Aurora live up to the older versions that your parents and even grandparents had when they were small. For this reason, I believe the Raggedy Ann Fancy Pals dolls would not only make the perfect gift for the little girl in your life but for mom and grandma as well.
You can purchase your own Raggedy Ann or Raggedy Andy doll at retail or online at the official Aurora shop and if you place an order over $50 until August 31, 2012, you'll receive free shipping when you use promo code: YooHoo12. You can also check out Aurora on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

One of the memory I have with Raggedy Ann was when my mother brought a big box of toys, that she had purchased from a yard sale. I saw a stuffed Raggedy Ann Doll and fell in love with her, took her everywhere, don't remember what happen to her. I wish I had her to pass down to my daughter. She's a classic.
